At the opposite end of the temperature scale from both Australia and Hawaii, Iceland is a winter paradise! Iceland’s wintry weather makes it the perfect place to chill out in a hot sauna and be pampered in a spa. In fact, the country has loads of hot natural lagoons and springs in which people bathe. The most famous one is the Blue Lagoon, about a 40-minute drive out of Reykjavik. There is plenty to do in Reykjavik as well. Cape Town, South Africa
For a very vibrant and colorful experience, plan a few days in South Africa. The gorgeous Cape Town is a fantastic melting pot of cultures and also offers visitors some unique scenery to explore. The epic Table Mountain is one of the city’s most recognizable sights, and both locals and visitors enjoy hikes up to its flat summit. If you think that sounds too strenuous for a vacation, you can always hop onto the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway for a ride to the top.
